Improvement Of Health; Healthy Food Eating; What Could Happen?

This post is strictly speculative. It may be a little unrealistic and it may never happen. Sometimes one needs to think outside the box when choosing a blog topic instead of provided the same redundant information. Did you ever wonder what would happen if everybody lived a healthy life by adhering to what the health professionals preach? Second, what would happen to our U.S. government and its economy if everybody lived according to the health professionals’ advice of what to do and what not to do to maintain a healthy lifestyle? The outcome might be very disastrous for our economy if we lived by what health care practitioners preached. This post addresses the “what could/would happen” if these “what ifs” occurred.

  • What if everyone totally quit smoking?  What could happen? Some of our state governments could have a difficult time operating without the incoming revenue. Sports complexes that rely on taxes collected from tobacco sales may not be been built. The health profession could probably suffer as our lung diseases and cancers associated with smoking would become nonexistent.
  • What if everyone quit drinking?  Again, our state governments could lose a considerable amount of tax money. On the city government level, revenue made from fines collected for driving under the influence (DUI) would disappear. Attorneys defending their DUI clients to help them get lesser penalties could become unemployed. Abstaining from alcohol could also have a long-term affect on the health industry. The industry could suffer since there are many diseases and cancers associated with alcohol abuse.
  • What if we stopped eating at fast food restaurants? This could have a great affect on our economy since there are a tremendous amount of jobs and tax money created by our fast food industry, which would be lost. Our health care industry could really take a hard hit since most fast foods restaurants don’t serve heart healthy foods. As a result, obesity and other associated diseases and ailments would be eliminated.
  • What if we stopped eating processed foods and other so-called “junk” foods? Our country could probably go into a depression. There could be a major loss of jobs and tax income. Heart disease, strokes, diabetes, cancers and other diseases would no longer be as prevalent and the need for ongoing scientific research for cures would not be as high.

In conclusion, looking at some issues in a speculative manner could have disastrous results if our speculations were to come to fruition. If everybody ate a healthy balanced diet, added some exercise into their day, and avoided smoking and drinking, our world would have to make some major changes. We need to be more responsible when it comes to our health and we need to start making the right choices.
